About Intuitive Performance Coaching

What IS Intuitive Performance Coaching?

Kerri provides coaching as a Certified International Health coach (CIHC). These services are designed to utilize your unconscious, your physical body, and your energy body. A session generally includes working with several energy systems, including meridians, chakras, biofield and tan tiens and axiatonal lines. In the simplest terms, these are different ways believed to access and optimize your energy system, something that is present in and around all of us. These aspects of our own energy fields have been known in ancient wisdom for thousands of years, and the electrical activity of our brain, our heart and body are monitored in modern medicine.

What we can use this style of coaching for is wide ranging, and some examples of goals may include:

-Career advancement or readying myself for a promotion or new role in my corporation.

-Aligning my career with my soul or spiritual purpose.

-Growing my business and meeting the challenges of marketing, time commitments, and still finding a balance between home life and work.

-I need to make a difficult decision in life, and I don’t want to be told what to do, but I need help getting answers from my inner wisdom.

-I am experiencing success and want to be ready for the next chapter in my life.

-Maintaining or building a healthy relationship with food and/or exercise and/or self-care.

-Some people will use this to address beliefs related to health issues as well, where a goal may be: “I am living a comfortable and active life with XYZ illness.”

What does a session look like?

First, we will have discussed the framework of the process in the telephone consultation, as well as answered all your questions. We also will have briefly touched on what you want to work on, and you may have a list of several ideas. These, when stated in the positive, are potential GOALS. The goal may feel “pie in the sky” for you at first. You also may have a list of conscious beliefs or views which you feel may be standing in the way of this goal. This will be the beginning of developing targets, which are stated in the negative typically.  Don’t worry, examples will be given to support you.

The beginning of each session is designed to address and correct any systemic energetic interference in several ways, preparing both the client and the coach for the muscle testing or energy checking that is intended to gain answers. This interference could include Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) from a cell phone, personal fitness monitor, or other electronics. The use of the computer or phone is usually not problematic during distance sessions if that is our means of connecting, as you are not touching it during the session, but each person is different. There are several other interferences we can also check for and correct. The coach is muscle testing or energy checking you via surrogate by distance. You will be taught to test yourself. We use this to get feedback from your body, your unconscious and your own inner wisdom. You are instructed during the first session in muscle testing and we practice it together as we are doing the above ccorrections. As we work, how the goal and target(s) need to be stated becomes clearer, and you will decide together, with the support of your inner wisdom, how it should be worded, and what target is most serving your highest good today. After corrections are complete, we address psychoenergetic reversals, or blocks, that are related to the target and may be standing in the way of the goal stated for the session or series of sessions. Next, we do simple corrections using the various energetic systems intended to reduce the level of distress caused by the target. Throughout the session, the intention is to reduce the level of distress (SUD score, or subjective units of distress) from as high as a 10, down to a 0, then that same target is stated in the positive, using the same or different psychoenergetic reversals and other correction methods to build strength and resilience as we work toward building the level of resonance (SUR score, or subjective units of resonance) with your target stated as a strength and ultimately with your goal from as low as a 0 to a +10. Aspects of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Thought Field Therapy, Healing Touch, and bilateral hemispheric stimulation are utilized to help the corrections take place and hold. Even from a distance, you can be coached step by step on how it’s possible to correct these on yourself, so you will have the opportunity for full control over what is done, and it can all be modeled for you to support yourself.

This is an active participation type of coaching, and you will be seated and standing and using your arms and legs through the process. Accommodations can be made to creatively address any issues where these things may be difficult to do or impossible. Being able to read energy fields and read your field via distance is how this can be done from afar, as what this process looks like for each client is unique, and each session is unique. The client must be stable enough emotionally to do the work during the session, be open to listen to their own body’s responses, be open to change, and be willing to complete homework to support the session. Homework is typically a few minutes 1-3 times a day.

Fortunately, during training, I have experienced this first-hand as a client for many goals. I have also had colleagues willing to be practice clients early on, for which I am forever grateful, who have enjoyed amazing results. Subsequent clients and referrals have also found great benefit. While I can’t provide any guarantees, I have never found a modality that works so quickly, and with such staying power, to address goals that have been present potentially for decades but have been difficult or seemingly impossible to achieve.

What does a session not look like?

There are steps in my sessions, but it is highly individualized and intuition driven. It does not follow a cookbook or recipe that is applied in a similar format to most or all clients. The client would then be taking notes, and then going out into the community to do their homework, or possibly have writing or reflection assignments to work on.

It is not reliant on motivational interviewing, which is a very effective technique, but can take an incredibly long time for change to occur.

It is not cheerleading or a pep talk, which you could get from friends and family for free, or the cost of a beer.

It is also not a kick you in the butt, militant approach either.

What IS NOT Coaching?

Coaching is the not the practice of medicine, psychotherapy, or any other licensed health care practice. While there are some similarities between coaching and psychotherapy, they are very different activities. The purpose of psychotherapy is to alleviate psychological disorders and coaching is not appropriate for clients with psychological disorders. Coaching is a professional relationship in which the coach partners with the client to help the client meet specific, tangible goals. The coach will work with the client to define goals and strategies for meeting them, and to identify potential obstacles and ways to minimize or eliminate them. Coaching may address specific personal goals or projects, life balance, job performance and satisfaction or general conditions in the client’s life, health, business, or profession

There are several websites that do a good job describing differences between coaching and psychotherapy, and here are a few if you are in the position that you are not sure if coaching is right for you.

Our dear friends at Virtue Medicine, right next door, provide a concise description that is quite helpful.

This article really dials down not only the differences, but how coaching can, in an emotionally healthy and stable individual, compliment psychotherapy. This would be done with a coach providing coaching, and different licensed mental health provider providing psychotherapy. Also, this includes a list of situations or diagnosed conditions at the end of the article that would lead a client down the psychotherapy path rather than the coaching path.

We can also assist with this decision via phone during your 15-minute free consultation, if you in any way feel unclear. As a general rule of thumb, if you sense that you require therapy, then you should talk with your licensed health care professional about therapy.
