What is a journey circle?
It is a circle for those who have trained in, at minimum, journeying with an instructor of the Way of the Shaman® The Basics in person workshop, or the Shamanic Journey Pathway to Knowledge online workshop. These are all offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. You may also attend after having completed the series of 1:1 journeys with any graduate of Harner Shamanic Counseling.
Harner Shamanic Counseling can be completed with me or another HSC counselor, where you are counseled (instructed) in a series of 5 sessions 1:1 to journey to animal helpers and teachers in the upper and lower world. You will leave this with a skill set for self-care that can serve you for life.
What is the purpose?
The purpose of the circle is to practice in community connecting with compassionate helping spirits to gain wisdom and healing directly from the helping spirits. The experience of this in community is similar to instruction, as there will be sharing and working with partners, but is not the replacement for formal instruction, and no teaching of journey methods is conducted. Live percussion will be offered to support your journey experiences.
You will be invited to use an eye covering (optional), rattle or drum (a pill or vitamin bottle works just fine), and a notebook to take notes from your experiences.
